Getting Creative with Gifts

My mom’s birthday just passed, and for the longest time, I was stumped as to what to get her. Of course, she’s the woman who has everything, so it was no easy task to pick something out. I scoured kitchen supply stores and department stores with no luck – for every nice item she saw, I knew she already had something like it. It wasn’t until I was browsing a local crafts sale in search of a gift for my own daughter that I came across a stand that sold hand-crafted jewelry. Unlike other pieces that I had found at my local mall, these items had a unique, individual flair that I hadn’t found anywhere else. Continue reading

I decided to be safe and err on the side of too dressy – looking a bit too formal would definitely be better than coming off as a total slob in front of my new colleagues. I wore a pretty conservative top tucked into a knee-length skirt, and completed the outfit with a pair of neutral colored ballet flats. Continue reading
